Even though Tucson is the 52nd largest metropolitan area in the United States, most people don’t think of it as a bustling city with a wealth of opportunities to offer. This is a shame as the city does in fact have a lot to offer both to those who have families and the ones who are just starting out in their adult lives. While it is true that the city is located in the desert, it has definitely come a long way from its early days. Aside from being the location for the University of Arizona, you can also find Davis-Monthan Air Force Base at the outskirts of the city. Central Tucson is bicycle friendly which is good news for those who opt to use less harmful means of transport on their daily commutes. The city has also been nicknamed Optics Valley due to the presence of more than a hundred companies that design and manufacture optics and optoelectronics systems.
A lot of the incorporated suburbs surrounding the city have been duly modernized but have managed to keep the charming aesthetic of the desert landscape. Tucson real estate is quite varied; ranging from majestic sprawling homes that cost several million dollars, to more affordable options located in manufactured developments. One thing you will notice when it comes to Tucson homes for sale is that the majority of them are built on a generous amount of land which gives you the option to build additions to your home when the need arises (and when your budget will permit of course!). Tucson is a city that offers you big city opportunities and allows you to come home to suburban comfort at the same time. It truly is a match made in heaven.
